Getting NoHopeForMe.Com going for public consumption

I haven’t done an about me yet, but suffice to say: I love to learn and do things. I like to say that I’m always a student. That being said, I have a lot of things on my plate and I want to start documenting them here. So today, I’ll be adding Categories and hopefully renaming the use of the word “Categories” to “Project Types” as that more befits the purpose of this page.

Current new categories are:

1. Monetization — The whole point of this blog is to share things I’m doing and find interest in hopes that I can make a small income stream out of it. Some of my other projects will also be “for-profit” for which, if there’s specific steps to that, will fit in here.
2. Free and Open source — I try to use things that are community driven and free. I tend to find myself very passionate about what these things can do in practical use and how they can meet needs that we’re often told they can’t.
   1. FreeBSD — This is one of my favorite operating systems. I’m currently getting it running from base on a laptop and want to share on that. I also know me and I know I will be doing a lot with this. 
3. Travel — I travel a lot for both work and pleasure and will share my experience.
4. Accounting — I was divorced in a way that left me nearly 250k in debt. I look forward to showing how far I’ve come and the what I use to get out of debt. 
   1. Taxes — This is always an interesting thing for me to tackle once a year.
   2. Balance Sheets — As I go through the process of assessing profitability within my primary and secondary income streams, I’ll look to share those here.
5. Business — I have a lot of hands in a lot of pots and own a few businesses myself. I’ll be sharing my experiences with them both. 
   1. Leadership — As a CEO, I’m currently trying to lead my company to a world with a very positive work/life balance. Look forward to sharing my experiences there. 
   2. Real Estate — I have dabbled in, own some, and like the idea of Real Estate. As I consider Real Estate in my future, I’ll share the processes.
   3. Cryptocurrency — Currently been dabbing in that passively which has done me well. 
   4. Technology — A very large passion of mine are the things I can do with business. 
   5. Side Hustles — This will be where I talk about projects as their effectiveness in my life — do I profit off what I enjoy?
6. Life and Health — I have amassed a considerable amount of experience on this walk through life, I’ll use these to share my new and existing ones.
   1. Advice — Hopefully, at some point, people will be able to shoot questions and I can answer them.
   2. Life Goals — I work on goals. I’ll post them here and discuss how what I’m doing is getting me to achieving.  
   3. Ethics — Just my thoughts on the impact of some of the decisions I make or see being made.
   4. Creativity — Coming up with out-of-the-box thinking on unique solutions.
7. Reviews — This will almost always be used with something else. My thoughts on what I or other people are doing.

Adding the Categories was pretty easy by the applet to the right. We’ll see how this works out for the short term. 

Now to get that word to change, I started by going to Settings > Permalinks within the DashBoard for WordPress and changed “Category Base” to “Projects

To change the word “Categories” on the main page:

I modified the CSS (Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS) by adding:

visibility: hidden;
}
#categories-2 .widget-title:after {
content:’Projects’;
visibility: visible;
float: left;
}

And I think that did it for today. Will break this out into it’s own project as it was a pain for me to work out and want to make it easier to find.
